G’day on a winter morning…
Quite a few within the signal area of our prime outlet will have snow, covering the ground *again* -- and be wondering just what has become of the global warming so vociferously warned against by former VP Al Gore – whose carbon footprint – or either one of his regular footprints – turns out to be bigger than most. (J) Just a little joke Mr. Vice President.
There’s so much news going on these days, my little one minute news budget struggles to keep up…but I find it rather fascinating. The President holds a TV news happening to tell us something most everyone had figured out by now – we’re in a war. So… he takes possession of it… it now belongs to him. He doesn’t even roll anyone’s reputation out on the snow covered yard to get rid their poor performance of being in his Administration.
Well… it’s not quite the middle of January. Come the 20th and he will have been President for one year. He has taken more rides in AF One in the history of the Air Force – and broken all kinds of records – except for the one that counts… keeping
Now we are opening a third front – in fact by the words uttered on air from retired military experts, this one apparently presents a more imminent threat to the lives and well being of Americans on American soil than at any time since 9/11/01. We can be thankful for that – and also thankful for the Lord’s controlling hand on our Nation… and indeed on our planet before and since that time. I would hate to be living in a world that is totally out of control. Wouldn’t you? May the Lord bless you and bring peace and tranquility to our land and our homes. Those are not just nice sounding words – they constitute an urgent and I believe effective prayer to Almighty God.

“JUST A MINUTE”
“WHEN MEN SAY ALL MANNER OF EVIL AGAINST YOU FALSELY…”
Just A Minute – Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, persecute you … and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake … (Matthew 5:10)
Those words are from the fifth chapter of Matthew’s gospel – Jesus speaking to his disciples. Brit Hume, formerly of ABC-News and Senior Fox News Host, had good reason to recall his Savior’s words recently giving on-air advice to golfer Tiger Woods.
Brit, who grew up in Washington DC, attending St. Albans at National Cathedral along with Al Gore and Evan Bayh, caught a lot of flak from fellow journalists for advising Tiger he’d be better off embracing the forgiveness of Christianity, repenting of betraying his wife and family and seeking forgiveness and salvation.
Hume’s straightforwardness and non-judgmental assessment was met with astonished catcalls and condemnation from the National Press Club crowd. One just doesn’t talk that way inside the Beltway.
As one who’s been there – it would be tremendous improvement if they did. Good job Brit – carry-on.
