JAM notice for Monday 4-07-08 WORDS FROM DOWN-UNDER

Hi Folks...

Hope you had a good weekend. I'm still fighting the battle of the
recalcitrant electrons and "0" and "1" -- that don't go where I intend.

PROMO LINE: Australian Prime Minister John Howard lost his seat via the
votes of the electorate -- but his plain talk echoes still. Several have
written, "Would that we had leaders who spoke so plainly." Today at (time)
you'll get a sampling of Prime Minister Howard's straight talk on JUST A
MINUTE here on Unique FM -- Be sure to listen.

Here's the link for the audio program:

The last line at the bottom of the screen shows where to comment.

"JUST A MINUTE" - WORDS FROM DOWN-UNDER

Just A Minute – John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia – recently lost his re-election, but not his plain talk. These words are all his -- directed to his country's immigrants: (quote) "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. "We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, [or] Chinese, … if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language! "Most Australians believe in God … because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation. … If God offends you, I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. … We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why … you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. "If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come … You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted." (unquote) John Howard – Australia's retiring Prime Minister.

I'm Jack Buttram
