SO, DID WE SAY THE MAGIC WORD? Just a Minute Radio for Friday 100611

            Hello once again – IT’S FRIDAY! 

 

            And what a whizzer of a week it has been.  Saturday training for a poll worker. Sunday Missions Conference began… and I got ill… Monday… got over it mostly… but sort of shaky…  Getting things ready for getting up early Monday… must be at the polling place no later than 6 AM…

 

            And so it went through the week… with a 6AM to 8:40PM day on Tuesday which tended to knock me out for a while… and some problems with the computer… and some problems with settling a real estate problem that isn’t really my problem… but gotta be there.  Trying to do my best by the Missions Conf.  Remembering my oldest son and his wife traveling overseas since early Monday themselves… the last trip he lead to Africa (Liberia) took most of a week to get the visa problems cleared up and out of New York. 

 

            No sense re-hashing all that… but the oil spill in the Gulf… which tops every newscast… and the primaries… which seems to fill up the rest of every newscast… I retreated to some reading – not newspapers… and Scripture (Now that’s a blessing… and very calming.)

 

            “Fret not thyself because of evil doers or for those who would bring wicked devices to pass…”  Seems like I ran into one of those situations every time I paused a bit.  Well…

 

            That doesn’t improve things here much does it – for me to bellyache.  So… I give it up – declare myself happy – and we’ll start over again next week.  Now if I can just get Mr. Obama to read this book – “How to Win Friends and Influence People” – he won’t have such a hard time and neither will I. 

 

            Then all I need do is worry about the National Debt.  But did you ever read the bumper sticker?  “WHY PRAY WHEN YOU CAN WORRY!”  -- Well… I think it’s worth praying about. (J)

Just a Minute: -- Miz Pearlie – this was a busy week – Did we say the magic word?

MizP: Ah b’leieve we did, Mr. Jack Ah thank hit was Sarah Palin frum Wasilla, Alaska.

Jack: And that’s what brought Miz Nikki Hayley to the top in the Republican Governor’s race?

MizP: Hit shore did.

Jack: Since we ran out of time on Wednesday I thought you might bring us up to date on this Friday.

              MizP: Of cowus -- Gov. Palin ‘couraged South Carolina voters to pick Miz Hayley – since awl tha-ut mud

                        flyin’ ‘round.             

Jack: That was tough wasn’t it – And she was backed by Mrs. Sanford too.

MizP: Then Miz Palin tole th’ Calieefornianis it’d be best if’n they picked Miz. Fiirino not Miz Boxer …

Jack; She’s the one who told the General to call her Senator not “Ma’m” – right?

MizP: Perzackly rite, Mr. Jack – an they’ll be a- callin Miz Carley Senator next fall too – Ah Hope so.

Jack: She did a good job I think.

MizP: Rite-o  -- an then they’s the Lady Miz Sharron Angle – who’s a-goin’ up against “Searchlite”Harry.

Jack: You mean Senator Harry Reid?

MizP: Ah calls him “Searchlite” Harry cause that’s th’ town in Nevadi he comes frum. But like Goodyear says

Hit’s “Time to RE-tire.” --- Sorry I’ gotta hurry away.

Jack: What’s the big hurry?

            MizP: Mr. Bama’s lookin’ fer hep ta plug tha-ut pipe… Ah tole him Ah’d see what I cud do.. see ya
