THE BATTLE GOES ON

Just A Minute – Thursday on China satellite TV, I saw a misty mountain-top producing medicinal herbs; next historical Chinese landscape paintings, followed by a pagan temple.
But then I got an e-mail notice from the China Aid Association: (quote) “On January 1st, the local police in Baoding, Hebei province, attacked a Christian Bible Study held in a Communist Party School.” These Chinese Christians were gathered in a training school for cadres of the Communist Party. The Christians celebrated the New Year with a Bible study, but about 10AM they were ‘raided’ by local police and over 40 held eight hours for interrogation. The school’s vice president was host; he was held for several days. Other leaders now are under tight surveillance.
On January 4th local police attacked another Christian group in Henan province – more leaders interrogated.
Despite continuing persecution even Government figures say there are 130 million Christians in China (including 20 million Catholics) – government always underestimates.
Bob Fu, President - China Aid Association asks us to pray for China to “realize true religious freedom soon.”
